**BLUNT:** Damaged caused by non-penetrating force.

**PIERCING:** Damaged caused by a sharp point.

Combat Description Cards are ingeniously set up and easy to use. The cards divide themselves into three types of damage: Piercing, Blunt, and Slashing. Each type is then broken down into three attack styles: Finesse, Power, and Range. Each style has a clear, readable one-word Action-Word and sample descriptions that sparks your imagination. The first example description illustrates a successful attack by the hero, and the second option depicts the hero vanquishing a foe!
Written by Novelist, organized by GameMasters: In composition, the deck contains three suits. These suits correspond to the well-known attack types of blunt, piercing, and slashing. Then, the action words and their examples are broken up into the generic fighting styles of Finesse, Power and Range. This quickly leads to an action word appropriate to the combat scene. Card users can choose to use the action word as the center of their own combat description or use one of the two example phases presented on the card. There are example phases for both notable strikes and fatal strikes.

Our Writing Guidelines

• We don’t describe the person perceiving the monster.

• We don’t give names to monsters.

• We don’t mention blood specifically, but generalizations like “fluid” are occasionally used .

• We don’t describe the surface the monster is on.

• Nothing cheesy, corny, or racy will be accepted.

• Both Heroes and Antagonists should be cool, so let’s make them sound cool!

• System Neutral: The card descriptions are not tied to any tabletop ruleset or Genre, meaning they can be used to describe monsters in any of your favorite tabletop-rpgs. If you run multiple games in multiple systems, these cards are great to use in any and all of your games.
